The best colour in the whole world is the one that looks good on you
~Chanel
I believe all women deserve to feel confident and beautiful every day.
The media, negative people, and our own self-talk get together and eat away at our self-image, making us feel less confident about our appearance.
That sucks!
It doesn’t have to be that way.
It’s not just the exterior that matters – it’s the person we are and how we feel.
When you feel confident, you stand straighter, walk taller and exude an energy.
People pick up on that, and it makes them feel comfortable being around you. In turn, this makes you feel even more confident and develop deeper friendships and relationships.
It’s not that easy though is it?
Wouldn’t it be nice to have your fairy god-mother wave her magic wand and you suddenly feel confident all the time?
But we know it’s not that simple to change the way we feel about ourselves.
Clothes and makeup are not essential, but they do help. Just knowing you look nice gives you a certain confidence.
Sometimes that’s easier said than done!
I have nothing to wear
We all go through that, and often end up wearing something that conflicts in one of two ways (or both):
~ it doesn’t suit our body shape – it accentuates what we want to hide or hides what we want to accentuate; or
~ it doesn’t suit our personality – doesn’t reflect the person within.
When we dress in ways that conflict with our inner selves we can’t feel fabulous – we’re hiding our fabulous selves!
This feeling of conflict (though we may not be aware of it) stops us from feeling confident and living to our potential.
We need to stop telling ourselves we’re too fat, too thin, too short, too tall – there is no right or wrong body to have. It’s just the way we are. There is no need to change what you are.
What helps:
- Find out the styles that flatter your body shape
- Think about who you are and how you want to be perceived
- Find out the colours that compliment your natural colouring
- Get rid of anything in your wardrobe that doesn’t make you feel good – it’s weighing you down, girl!
- Learn how to apply your makeup to bring out your best features
- Stop the negative self talk
Remember, Style is partly about confidence - if you exude positivity and confidence you will be perceived that way!
